Your dentist will decide whether crowns or bestsmile Veneers are more appropriate based on the condition of your natural teeth and where the damage is located (front or back teeth).
Both treatments require a natural, firmly rooted tooth. Veneers and crowns are different in several respects:
- Removal of tooth enamel: Only a minimal amount is removed for Veneers, while crowns require more to be sanded away due to their thicker walls.
- Area of application: Veneers cannot be used if teeth are heavily damaged or have experienced too much decay.
Over the course of a Veneers treatment, new crowns can also be produced and applied to ensure that the patient ends up with a beautiful smile. Veneers cannot be directly applied to dental crowns, however.
